Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Solar Muster Inc. ("LandVault", "we", "our", "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use LandVault (landvault.ca). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

1. What Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

  • Name and email address โ€” collected by Stripe, Inc. when you purchase a report. We receive a copy so we can deliver your report to you.
  • Project inputs โ€” the municipality, dwelling type, unit count, square footage, and cost values you enter into our estimating tools. This information is processed locally in your browser and is not stored on our servers or linked to your identity.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Server logs โ€” our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) may collect IP addresses, browser type, device type, and page request timestamps for security monitoring and platform performance purposes.
  • Cookies โ€” LandVault uses only essential session cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

  • To deliver the purchased estimate report to your email address.
  • To respond to support or privacy inquiries sent to info@landvault.ca.
  • To maintain platform security and prevent fraud.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Consent

By purchasing a report on LandVault, you consent to the collection and use of your name and email address for the purpose of report delivery. For free tools, no personal information is collected or required.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at info@landvault.ca. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide services to you.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited personal information with the following service providers solely as necessary to deliver our services:

These providers process your data only as necessary to deliver our service and are contractually bound to protect it in accordance with applicable privacy laws. LandVault does not authorize these providers to use your personal information for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage and Cross-Border Transfers

Your project data and report metadata are stored in Canada (Supabase Canada Central region, Azure Canada Central). Payment processing occurs in the United States (Stripe). Web hosting infrastructure is operated by Vercel, which may involve servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions.

By using LandVault and purchasing a report, you acknowledge that your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Canada. We take steps to ensure that any cross-border transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Data Retention

We retain your name, email address, and report metadata for a maximum of 2 years following your purchase, after which it is deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7 below). Anonymized aggregate usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

You have the right to:

  • Access โ€” request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct โ€” request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete โ€” request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent โ€” for any use of your information not strictly required to fulfil a purchase.
  • Complain โ€” if you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on our database, and use of PCI-DSS compliant payment processing (Stripe).

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

LandVault is intended for adults engaged in real estate development, construction, and investment activities. We do not knowingly collect personal information from persons under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us at info@landvault.ca and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of LandVault following a material change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
